Richard (on hiatus) An interesting setting ........ sounds a little like The Island, by Victoria Hislop - a really good write up Barbara and I think the all pervasive, unsettling mood at the moment does affect how we view books.

I agree with you, Richard. Have you read the Hisop book? Thanks for your comment.

I did read The Island and really enjoyed it, her first big hit.
I quite enjoyed her second novel set in the spanish civil war, if I remember, but according to my wife, her books go down hill a bit after that. Maybe too many books, too fast.

Barbara I have never read any of her books. I always enjoy finding an author previously unknown to me. Thanks for getting back, Richard.

Thanks so much for your comment, Beata. It is difficult not to have this unusual time not affect everything you read or do.

Kimber Silver Such a beautiful cover for a somber story. You've given a wonderfully thoughtful review, Barbara!😊 Timing can make all the difference.

Jenna Have you looked for a NF book about this, Barbara? It's something I knew nothing about either... which of course arouses my interest!

Barbara No, I haven't but I will. Thanks for the suggestion, Jenna.
